The PCI® Controlled Dosage System is one of the most efficient, cost effective and complete medication management systems available for long term care. Providing all of the medication security and labelling information typical of unit dose systems, the Controlled Dosage system (CDS) has demonstrated time savings and medication error reduction for nurses and long term care facilities and ease of use and lower costs for the pharmacists providing it. Although many urban "central fill" pharmacies and larger regional providers with large bed counts have moved to automated systems of medication preparation, CDS is still the system of choice for pharmacists serving local long term care facilities, easily and cost effectively.
