Community Contributions

This holiday season instead of doing a Secret Santa gift exchange, the Manrex Team decided to each contribute a New toy which we donated to the Winnipeg Christmas Cheerboard, so that Children who may have otherwise gone without, will have a gift to open during the holidays.

When golf benefits health
Ste. Anne’s Hospital raises $47,800

Gold sponsors and more than 272 golfers, the highest number of participants in five years, made the benefit golf tournament for the Ste. Anne’s Hospital Foundation a great success, raising a record-high $47,800.

Presented for the third year in a row at the Mont-Ste-Anne resort’s Le Grand Vallon golf club, the tournament delighted organizers, who contributed more than $140,000 of the total donations given to the foundation since the event’s creation.
Doris Boudreault, a pharmaceutical consultant from Beaupré and exclusive franchisee in Quebec for Manrex and Honorary Chairperson of the 2006 edition, gave special thanks to gold sponsors, who return each year in greater numbers. She also thanked approximately twenty volunteers, many of whom are hospital employees who take time off to ensure that the tournament has technical support. Assurances Rémi Roy, a family business for three generations and now known as PMT Roy, took the opportunity of the prize-awarding ceremony following dinner at the chalet at the mountain’s summit to make a donation of $5,500, which was greatly appreciated by the organizing committee’s co-chairs, Paul Chouinard and Michel Dupont.
On the golf front, two teams won tournament honours with identical rounds of 9 strokes below par: the foursome of Sylvie Tremblay, Judith Paradis, Claude Maltais and Lucie Beaumont, and that of André Gagnon, Michel Dupont, Jeannine Carpentier and Yvan Dupont.
Responding better to hospital needs. Invited to make a speech, foundation president Jacques Racine made it clear that the money raised this year would further the foundation’s objectives to humanize care and improve quality of services by helping to augment medical equipment already purchased over the years. Mr. Racine also announced that the honorary presidency of the 2007 edition would be assumed by the mayor of Sainte-Anne-de-Beaupré, Jean-Luc Fortin, and that the tournament’s goal of $50,000 would serve to finance the purchase of a treadmill to help residents get more exercise.

Dear Mr. Webster,

We would like to thank you for the arts and craft material you sent for the children of the Pediatric ward of Hôpital Maisonneuve-Rosemont in Montreal, Quebec.

All these supplies will be placed in the PharmaFun Cart, much to the delight of our hospitalized children. It goes without saying that the PharmaFun Cart project is extremely popular.

We thank you for your invaluable cooperation.

Dear: Paul,

As one of our most valued clients, we would like to invite you and your organization to get involved with the Purolator Tackle Hunger Program by participating in the first annual Purolator Tackle Hunger Week food drive.

So far this year, the Purolator Tackle Hunger Program, in conjunction with the CFL, TSN, local teams, and many generous CFL fans and organizations, has raised the equivalent of over 200,000 Kilograms of food for local food banks.and we don't want to stop there.

During the week of November 1 - 5, 2004, up to forty organizations in four Canadian cities will be helping Purolator tackle hunger. We want you to be one of them.

Should you choose to take on the challenge, your organization will be competing against others in 4 regions across the Prairies and Western Canada for the 2004 Purolator Tackle Hunger Week Trophy. You will collect food and cash donations for the food bank. The winning organization will be the one that raises the most pounds of food per participating employee. All participating organizations will also be entered into a draw for a trip for two (2) to the 2005 Grey Cup in Vancouver courtesy of Purolator, Canada's Biggest Courier Company.

We will provide you with everything that you need in order to succeed. Once you have confirmed your participation, we will forward to you a Purolator Tackle Hunger Week food drive kit. This kit will provide you with food drive posters that will encourage employees, family and friends to get involved. The kit will also include an entry ballot and other promotional material to be displayed internally leading up to, and during the food drive.

On Friday, October 29th, we will deliver donation bin(s) to your front door and help you set them up in a central location. On Friday, November 5th at 9a.m., you should complete the entry form provided and hand it to us when we come by to collect your donations. Once we have gathered the donations from all the participants in each region and determined the winner of the trophy, we will take the food to the local food banks. Your food donations will come as a great help to them just in time for the holiday season.

Manrex would like to thank its employees and vendors for their support with this year's Manrex PharmaFun Carts! Every few years, Manrex, in conjunction with S&S Technology, has the opportunity to donate Medication Carts (PharmFun Carts) to Children's Hospitals across the country. Our employees and vendors donate their time and money to overflow these carts with arts, crafts, games, toys, teddy bears, books and magazines. This year, the carts stuffed full of goodies, were valued at just over $20,000.00!! and the proud recipients were Hopital Maisoneuve Rosemount in Montreal PQ, St. Amant Center in Winnipeg MB(pictured here), Medicine Hat Hospital in Medicine Hat AB and Kelowna General Hospital in Kelowna BC.
Thank you to everyone for your support!
